Our Participants

EAPI attracts participants largely from Asia and Oceania. Around 95% of these participants are from outside the Philippines. Overall, 50% are from East Asia (Philippines, Vietnam, China, Myanmar, Indonesia, Malaysia, Korea, Japan, Thailand, etc.), 25% from South Asia (Bangladesh, India, Sri Lanka), 20% from Oceania (Papua New Guinea, Fiji, Tonga, Kiribati, Micronesia, etc.), and 5% from elsewhere particularly Africa. Altogether, slightly less than half are female (40%). Around 75% are religious, 15% diocesan, and 10% lay.

All have at least three years of experience in pastoral work. Many have served for significant periods. Every cohort features men and women who have been deeply involved in a variety of ministries, ranging from pastoral services to leadership, formation, and animation, to school and health care administration and social work. The wisdom of their years and their cultural diversity add to the richness of the “EAPI experience”.
