Program Duration: June 1-25, 2027
LMSC is a one-month residential program designed to enhance the capacities of lay pastoral workers as they participate in the life and mission of a synodal Church. The program also aims to contribute to the participants’ personal and spiritual development as they respond to the demands of the contemporary church and society.
The program fosters learning in an Asian cross-cultural environment, cultivating the participant’s relationship with the Good Shepherd, with other pastoral workers and with themselves. The modules are chosen to help them acquire knowledge and skills, with special attention given to the following themes:
- The Laity in a Synodal Church
- Biblical Foundations of the Lay Vocation
- Developing Good Pastoral Leadership and Management
At the end of the program, the participants are hoped to attain three key outcomes:
- To be in Communion with the Synodal Church: doing lay mission in a “new way of being Church” (Collaborative, Participative, mission oriented)
- To be Critically Reflective and Creative in the age of AI: understanding of contexts and challenges and offering effective and creative responses
- To be a good disciple of Jesus for today: caring for the community in Leadership and Management.
